INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS

The Journal of Communication and Information Systems publishes papers containing original research and/or development results, representing an effective and novel contribution for knowledge in the area of Telecommunications. Contributions are accepted in the form of Regular papers or Correspondence. Regular papers are the ones with a well-rounded treatment of a problem area, whereas Correspondence focus on a point of a defined problem area. At the Editor's discretion, other kinds of papers may be published if they are found to be relevant or of interest to the readers. Responsibility for the content of the papers rests upon the Authors only.

The Journal is aimed at an international audience. For this reason, Authors are supposed to write in English. Authors are asked to submit a PDF (Portable Document Format) or a PS (PostScript) electronic version of the paper sending it by e-mail to the address of the Editors-in-Chief. Procedures for the analysis of submitted papers: Upon receiving the paper, the Editors-in-Chief catalog the relevant informations such as paper assigned code, title, Authors names, Area Editor, paper received date and paper forwarded date to Area Editor. Most of the information is forwarded to two corresponding Area Editors and also to Authors. Each Area Editor assigns three to five referees to each submitted paper and establishes ten weeks as the length for the revision process. Upon receiving the revisions the Area Editor forwards them together with its decision to the Editors-in-Chief. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the notification of acceptance and for the necessary information regarding the paper publication.

Authors should indicate whether the manuscript is to be reviewed as a Regular paper or a Correspondence. Also, an Editorial Area should be suggested by Authors (see Area Editors).

Figures, tables and images should be placed after the text at the end of the manuscript. Each figure, table or image should have a caption that should be intelligible to the reader without reference to the text.
